6th December – Christmas Fayre
Hi, my name is Lisa Shaw and I am the Chair of the Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) at Christ Church Primary School. Our aim is to provide a number of facilities to benefit the Children who attend the school and to provide additional equipment etc. to aid in their learning and welfare through fundraising. We meet once a month straight after school, usually the second Tuesday in the month, everyone is welcome. We understand that after school it may be difficult to arrange child care so your children are welcome to join you at the meeting, we usually have squash and biscuits! This is what we have been up to in the past school year;
We have organised six events in the past school year, which have be supported greatly by parents and staff. These events were:
'Welcome to the new school year' Coffee Morning
Children in Need Coffee Morning
Easter Egg Design Competition
Easter Chocolate Bingo
I am happy to report that the Children in Need Coffee Morning helped raise a total of £429.62, with all proceeds going directly to Children in Need. The other PTFA events raised a fantastic total of £2,591.14 for the PTFA School Fund.
During the last 12 months the PTFA have paid for the following:
Crème Egg for every pupil and staff member at Eastertime
Toys for Nursery
Year 6 leavers t-shirts and fabric pens
Ice-pops for every pupil and staff member on the last day of summer term
A play tent for the Reception classes
Christmas Crackers for every pupil and staff member for the Christmas themed school dinner
Christmas Party food for the last day of term
Funds towards the development of an outdoor nature area by the side of school with bark chippings, bird feeders, bat boxes and an insect hotel
A CD player for school
Colouring Books for use at lunchtime
We are currently helping with funds towards the development of the roof space into an outdoor learning area with planters, seating and wildlife attracting flowers and have provided teaching staff with money for the development of their class libraries including the purchase of more books and book storage. We continually encourage all staff to come forward with any purchase requests that they may have at any point.
Should you wish for any further details of anything about the PTFA and the fundraising that we do then please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Lisa Shaw via email: PTFA@christchurch-burton.staffs.sch.uk or via school reception. Thank you.
